Our sumptuous manor house is home to laid-back dining experiences, a soul-soothing spa and rooms brimming with country house character. Inspired by our proud heritage and love for the countryside that surrounds us, it's no wonder that we have a wholehearted love for all things local - a passion which is reflected in each of our carefully crafted dishes. With comfy seats to sink into, our newly refreshed Horse Box Brasserie is the perfect place to while away an afternoon. Wood-panelled and timelessly elegant, our Restaurant is brimming with 15th-century charm - the perfect setting for an unforgettable dining experience under glistening chandeliers. In the Summer take to the lawn and spend the afternoon in one of our famous quirky carriages, or simply watch the sun set over Cheltenham with a chilled glass of bubbles.

 

Our story runs all the way back to 1485, with the hotel once being a home to many different families, as well as a boarding school for girls. Most notably, Cheltenham is a historical Spa town after the discovery of its mineral-rich waters in 1716. The word ‘Spa’ is derived from a Latin phrase translating to ‘Health through water’ which merited a visit from King George III in 1788, during which time Ellenborough Park hosted the King.

After surviving the turmoil of history for over 500 years, one factor becomes abundantly clear, the previous owners all adored this property. The majestic building with its mix of architecture and colourful history has not only been preserved, but enhanced, so all can come and experience the joy.
