This is the question I put to our key clients when we first start working with them. It is amazing how many are surprised when they think about the why behind the flowers they buy anyway... surely everyone has flowers on their reception desk/in their home/at their event to welcome the guests? But why? Usually flowers are placed in locations where people have been travelling. Their mindset is logistical, stressed, 'greyed out', defensive as they negotiate their way to an event, a meeting or a friend's home. A beautifully arranged vase of flowers as the first thing they see will capture their imagination, snap their mind into a new space, a more creative space, where they relax, let go of the stress and drop their guard, opening up to whatever comes next... and that is where you come in....
That is why we spend so much time getting to know our clients, understanding their brand, culture or personal taste so that our flowers can truly reflect their personality and hit the mark with their clients, guests or friends. There is a certain spontaneity in cut flowers - the fact that someone has invested money in making you feel good with no advantage to them as the flowers will last a few days then be thrown on the compost heap - that feels really special - I love to receive a bouquet, it makes me feel amazing!
