History proves right or wrong, we try to be consistent every day


Our history starts from far away, our ancient vineyards starts with the Minucci family dating back to the end of the twelfth century. The ancient and noble Minucci family owned the lands of Vallonto where the current vineyards of Benedetta Verga Falzacappa find place.

 

From several centuries my family manages our winery, based in Vallonto, in the North -East of Italy. This area is well known since the XII century for its vineyards and exceptional wines that were brougth to the Council of Trent in 1545. My mother, Camilla De Carlo, an intelligent and sensitive woman, continued the family tradition, bringing out the past and the present in wine. Today, I am proud to keep the family tradition alive. Our vinery is a perfect balance of tradition and development, as we build on our long history and experience and adopt the latest technologies to maintain the highest standards of organic wine
production.

I believe that only by pushing innovation boundaries we can do justice to our centuries old heritage and knowledge. I hope you will enjoy our wines and in doing so also share with me the passion and motivation that has brought us together.

Our wines do not contain the typical residues and metabolites of synthetic plant protection products. Our understanding of the terroir, of the strong clay soil, the climate and the grape, allows us to use only natural elements. We are passionate about organic production and the achievement of ecologically sustainable objectives, a philosophy that goes well beyond the strict implementation of existing organic wine requirements and regulations. All our packaging is recyclable and so are most of the materials we use in the fields and in our cellars. In our fields, we offset the inevitable CO2 production by planting trees every year and growing hedges. In our cellars, we strictly limit any addition of external ingredients. In our selection of yeasts, we make sure that foreign inputs do not interfere with the natural process of fermentation.
